Peer-Review Process

The Journal of Technology is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in its publications. Our peer-review process is designed to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are rigorously evaluated for their originality, significance, and scientific rigor. This process is vital in upholding the journal's reputation as a trusted source of cutting-edge technological research and insights.

Initial Submission and Editorial Review

  1. Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system, ensuring that all required information and documentation are provided.
  2. Editorial Screening: Upon receipt, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team. This screening assesses the manuscript for basic compliance with the journal's scope, formatting guidelines, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at this stage.

Peer Review

  1. Reviewer Selection: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to an associate editor with expertise in the relevant field. The associate editor selects qualified reviewers, typically two to four experts, based on their knowledge and experience. Reviewers are chosen to provide a balanced and thorough evaluation of the manuscript.

  2. Review Process: Reviewers are given a specified time frame, usually 3-4 weeks, to review the manuscript and provide their feedback. They assess the manuscript on various criteria, including:

    • Originality and novelty of the research
    • Methodological rigor and appropriateness
    • Clarity and coherence of the presentation
    • Relevance and significance of the findings
    • Adequacy of the literature review
    • Ethical considerations
  3. Reviewer Reports: Reviewers submit detailed reports, including their evaluations, comments, and recommendations. They may recommend one of the following actions:

    • Accept without revision
    • Minor revisions required
    • Major revisions required
    • Reject

Editorial Decision

  1. Decision Making: The associate editor considers the reviewers' reports and makes a recommendation to the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief then makes the final decision based on the reviews and the associate editor's recommendation. Authors are informed of the decision, which may include requests for revisions.
  2. Revisions: If revisions are requested, authors are given a specified period to address the reviewers' comments and resubmit the manuscript. Revised manuscripts may undergo further review, often by the original reviewers, to ensure that the concerns have been adequately addressed.

Publication

  1. Final Acceptance: Once a manuscript meets all the requirements and satisfactorily addresses the reviewers' comments, it is accepted for publication. The editorial team performs a final check for formatting and compliance with journal standards.
  2. Proofing and Publication: Accepted manuscripts are then sent to production for typesetting and proofreading. Authors have the opportunity to review and approve the proofs before the manuscript is published online and in print.

The Journal of Technology values transparency and fairness in its peer-review process. We are dedicated to providing constructive feedback to authors to help them improve their work and contribute to the advancement of technological knowledge. Through our rigorous peer-review process, we aim to publish high-quality research that has a significant impact on the field and society at large.
