Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The Journal of Technology welcomes the submission of high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and innovation in the field of technology. To facilitate the submission and review process, authors are encouraged to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Manuscript Submission

  • Online Submission System: Authors must submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system [Insert Submission Link Here].
  • Cover Letter: A cover letter should accompany the submission, briefly stating the manuscript's significance and its relevance to the journal's scope. Any prior or concurrent submission of the manuscript to other journals must be disclosed.

2. Manuscript Preparation

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in clear and concise English. Authors for whom English is not their first language may consider using language editing services.
  • Format: Manuscripts should be prepared in a standard word processing format (e.g., Microsoft Word) and adhere to the following structure:
    • Title Page: The title page should include the title of the manuscript, author names and affiliations, corresponding author’s contact information, and any acknowledgments.
    • Abstract: A concise abstract of up to 250 words summarizing the research purpose, methods, results, and conclusions.
    • Keywords: 4-6 keywords that represent the main topics of the manuscript.
    • Main Text: Organized into sections such as Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
    • References: References should follow a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, IEEE) and include all necessary details to locate the sources.
    • Figures and Tables: Figures and tables should be numbered consecutively and include descriptive captions. High-resolution images are preferred.

3. Ethical Considerations

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not previously published or under consideration for publication elsewhere.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing their work.
  • Ethical Approvals: Research involving human or animal subjects must have approval from relevant ethics committees and include a statement of compliance with ethical standards.
  • Data Availability: Authors are encouraged to make their data available to readers and reviewers. Data availability statements should be included where applicable.

4. Review Process

  • Initial Screening: Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure they fit within the journal’s scope and adhere to the submission guidelines.
  • Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for peer review. The Journal of Technology employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure impartiality and confidentiality.
  • Revision: Based on reviewers' feedback, authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the specified timeframe.
  • Final Decision: The editorial team makes the final decision based on reviewers' recommendations. Authors will be notified of the decision (acceptance, revision, or rejection) and provided with constructive feedback.

5. Post-Acceptance

  • Proofreading: Authors will receive proofs of their accepted manuscripts for final approval. It is the authors' responsibility to review and correct any errors before publication.
  • Copyright Transfer: Upon acceptance, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer agreement, granting the Journal of Technology the right to publish and distribute the work.
  • Open Access: The Journal of Technology supports open access. Accepted articles will be freely accessible under a Creative Commons license, ensuring wide dissemination and impact.
